DALSA Corporation is an international technology leader in the design, development, and manufacture of digital imaging products and solutions. In addition, DALSA specializes in the engineering and fabrication of semiconductor components and services. DALSA was founded in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada in 1980 by imaging pioneer Dr. Savvas Chamberlain, a former Professor in Electrical Engineering at the University of Waterloo. Originally the company concentrated in developing and generating technology in the area of Charge Coupled Device (CCD) image sensors. The company was capitalized in November 1984 and went public on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: DSA) in May 1996. The company has grown and current employs approximately 1000 people world-wide with sales offices across North America as well as in Europe and Asia supporting an international distribution network serving more than 40 countries.
