Measurement and control of product color is critical in many industries, including food, pharmaceutical, and automotive assembly. Teledyne DALSA offers a variety of high performance color image capture technologies, products, and tools.
Bilinear color imaging is built on Teledyne DALSA's dual line scan image sensor technology. The first line is made up of alternating red (R) and blue (B) pixels; the second is comprised of green (G) pixels only. There is no gap between the lines which minimizes any artifacts due to spatial correction. Simple yet effective, Teledyne DALSA's bilinear solution offers decent color fidelity for cost-sensitive applications such as food and cotton inspection, and the solid green line offers a easy method to measure intensity.
Teledyne DALSA's RGB Trilinear technology provides true RGB colours and best colour fidelity with three rows of pixels fabricated on the same die. Our advanced design minimizes the distance between rows to eliminate image artifacts due to synchronization. The better color fidelity of Teledyne DALSA's trilinear solution is optimized for applications such as PCB inspection, ceramic tile inspection, print and cheque scanning, while the minimal line spacing avoids the additional costs of a prism based camera.
Bayer Color Filter Array architecture uses a mosaic filter pattern over the area sensor's pixels. Color information is reconstructed with a demosaic algorithm from within the camera or on the host.
Advanced Color Software Tools are a critical and invaluable part of any color vision application. Teledyne DALSA's Sapera Essential now offers a comprehensive library of classes for color conversion, processing, calibration, and classification.
